birthday fun

A and A turned 8 this year (I can't believe they are so old). Between the baptism and a BIG birthday party we were very busy this month. But it sure was alot of fun. We had so many friends and loved-ones here to share in their baptism. We practically had standing room only at the church and at our house. It was a very special day and it was so great to have those that could make it here (although we sure did miss all that couldn't be here with us.

Then for the party (which we postponed for 3 weeks after their actual b-day because I was so busy with the baptism) we had a sports game theme. To start with they all made sports pennants while we waited for all to come. Then the boys played a football game (we even spray painted a field in the backyard and Chad was the referee). The girls were cheerleaders. We gave them all pom-poms and had some Young Women from the ward come and teach them some cheers. Then the girls cheered for the boys. When they were all tired we went in to the "snack bar" we had set up in the kitchen and they each ordered food (hot dogs, nachos, drinks, popcorn). What a blast - you sure do have to be creative when you have to combine a boys and girls party.
